I was approached by Lighthouse Visual Communications to help consult on a migration project, re-developing a PHP based web application to a .NET based one.

After helping Lighthouse define the requirements with the end client, I designed an ASP.NET MVC based CMS, utilitising SQL Servier 2008 Express as the data-store.

The kick-off for the project involved a detailed technical specification and project plan, and once these documents were signed-off work begin.

The key requirements for the site were:

  • Product management
  • Event/ news management and RSS feed
  • Content management
  • Easily maintainable and resilient
  • Keep to time and budget
