The goal of the Rules Engine Web Portal was to provide the end-customer with the ability to self-administer an array of vastly different services.

Users of the system would be able to select specific Service Requests or  MACs (Move, Add or Change) requests and enter the required information, after which the Rules Engine (hosted in a G2 Server by Gensym) would automatically implement the required end-to-end changes to the IP Contact Center (IPCC) systems to fulfill the request.

The end goal for the client was the ability to allow for quicker turnaround of requests, resulting in:

  • Better SLA performances
  • The ability to service signifficantly higher volumes of changes in the network.
  • Repeated best-practice implementation of changes
  • End-customer self-service
